Dear Members and Friends,
For nearly 100 years, Cornerstone Baptist Church has anchored the Bedford-Stuyvesant community during dark and uncertain periods. Our love for God and willingness to step out on faith have enabled us to stand firm in the face of adversity to serve God and His people. Our church is the spiritual home for more than 1,500 families. During my time as your pastor, I have come to know you as a community firmly grounded in the Baptist faith and deeply committed to this church.
Our mission as a church family is to lead all people to the Lord Jesus by deepening their understanding and knowledge of God, educating our people in the truths of our faith and providing for those with physical, emotional and spiritual needs. With this purpose in mind, our church offers numerous ministries and programs which engage and serve hundreds of people. However, to do this work effectively requires that we have functional and ample facilities. While we accomplish a great deal with the limited space and outdated buildings we now have, I have repeatedly heard members express their desire to make improvements to our facilities that will enable the church to better serve the current needs of our members and to be around for future generations.
In response, we undertook a review of the needed facility improvements. Prayerfully, many of you expressed a readiness and willingness to begin a capital program to make the necessary enhancements to our church buildings. You also made it clear that as we move forward, we should seek a comprehensive solution, rather than a quick fix, in addressing our building needs.
We have launched a $500,000 capital campaign to make necessary improvements and to generate additional resources by paying off the outstanding mortgage on the church. By strengthening our fiscal condition, we will be able to expand our ministry outreach to help those in need. Of course, the success of this endeavor depends on the church having the financial resources to bring our plans to fruition. My prayer is that every member of Cornerstone Baptist Church will prayerfully commit to support the Vision to Victory campaign. Your gifts to the Church are personal but ultimately gifts to God, a response of your faith and a gift of love for all that the Lord has done for you.
Please ask Our Lord to direct you in your generosity and do what you can to help make this campaign a success. God loves His Church and when we love the things that He loves, it brings honor and glory to Him. Loving God and loving one another are not optional for believers, but rather, they are commands. When God’s people obey these commands, it simply reveals their desire to be faithful to His Word! our prayers, support, and financial commitment will help to carry out God's command to .
Please pray that God may guide and direct our efforts in this building campaign to serve the needs of our family of faith. May God bless you abundantly for your generosity. We are led by scripture. For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
Sincerely in Christ,

The Plan
Our campaign is focused on major improvement projects:
1. Paying off our $300K mortgage will eliminate the need for an $11,497 monthly budget. This will allow more outreach projects and fund part/full time staff positions.
2. Installing a new $8OK HVAC system will allow us to become more energy efficient during the summer and winter months. Currently we have received citations for noise from the City of NewYork. Every major corridor of the church will be cooler/warmer and better served as a result of a new system.
3. Upgrading sound system $100K will create a better quality of worship service.
4. Chapel upgrades focused on a state of the art social space designed to strengthen the community relationships of the people of Cornerstone Baptist Church Chapel upgrades such as couches, lounge chairs and screens will provide a state of the art meeting space for all generations. lt will also provide for more multi-purpose usage for other events.
